GDSN Country Expansion • Consumer Goods Retail • Bring together multinational retailers and manufacturers and local trading partners to increase data quality and supply chain optimization • Healthcare • Accelerate adoption of the GDSN in target markets to increase patient safetyand supply chain efficiency

Transport & Logistics • Objective • Develop, approve & implement GS1 Transportation & Logistics Strategy • Progress • Revised T&L Strategy is submitted to the April meeting of AC for review • Logistics eCom standards development (LIM) in GSMP is ongoing according to schedule • RFID in Rail Conference, organized and led by GS1 Sweden brought strong interest from the stakeholders • Customs: WCO participated at the GS1 Global Forum and Market Place • Next Steps • Get approval to the T&L Strategy and proceed with implementation

  5. APEC Supply Chain Visibility Activities • APEC held workshop in September 2010 - will establish Visibility Platform based on GS1 EPCIS standards • As next step, APEC plans to start in 2011 • Phase 1: Feasibility study • Phase 2: Pilot

GS1 Value Chain Processes (VCP)Solving Supply Chain Pain Points Together • The Supply Chain is Simple … Right? • Even “Simple” supply chains have multiple touch points/handlers before reaching a final destination. • Different actors may physically possess, but not own, products. • Complex supply chains have greater need to locate products and validate sale through proper channels. • GS1 Value Chain Processes Group will address driving in key process efficiencies in supply chains.

Role of VCP Group • Provide guidance for increased efficiency in supply chain management and help determine best practices • A platform for discussion / discovery / decisions • Networking for supply chain management professionals and GS1 MOs representing local needs. • Learn from practical case studies how to implement learning's in day-to-day operations • Members to discuss issues and share and compare ideas with their counterparts from around the globe

Sustainability (Global Product Packaging) • Objective • Leverage GDSN to support the exchange of Metrics for Packaging and Sustainability defined by The Consumer Goods Forum (GPP Metrics) • Progress • Work Request agreed by GPP Group (October) • Statement of Business Needs agreed by GPP Group (December) • Next Steps • Agree fast-track process to convert GPP Metrics into GS1 Standards • CGF to deliver GPP Metrics • Distribute Call To Action and Charter of GSMP Work Group

Product Recall • Objective • Develop GS1 Global Process and Interoperability Standards for Product Recall • Support MO’s in evaluation and deployment of recall service • Progress • Recall standard progressing through GSMP – 1st pass draft sched. Mar. ’11 • Estab. GS1 role: ISO recall / safety workgroups – 1st pass drafts April ’11 • Estab. GS1 role: EU comm. for recall / product safety – regular update calls • Agreed with solution provider on Regional Recall Hub concept (<cost/risk) • Next Steps • Draft and distribute Recall FAQ by week 1 Feb. ‘11 • Draft and distribute Implementation Guidelines by end June ’11 • Draft interoperability principles Q4 ‘11 and Interop. requirements Q2 ‘12

Food Traceability • Objective • Help implementation of Traceability best practices and GS1 standards via on site assessments • Progress • GTS (Global Traceability Standard) and GTC checklist (control points and compliance criteria) available and approved through GSMP (2010) • Global Traceability Programme in deployment : 30 GS1 Member Organisations involved, 117 trained auditors including 12 accredited auditors • Next Steps • Trainings in Latin America (May) and Asia Pacific (June) • Deliver Food Traceability deployment toolkit • Pursue work with CGF GFSI (Global Food Safety Initiative)

  11. B2C Digital Coupon • Objective • To define solutions for coupon identification to support the business needs, to develop attributes for coupon description (ex. Valid products, and valid locations), and to describe the end-to-end digital coupons process (including actors) • Progress • Finalised Statement of Business Needs (SBN) – Oct. 2010 • Checked priority in Retail Value Chain Industry – Dec. 2010 • Defined approach to start development – Dec. 2010 • Next Steps • Form GSMP Work Group – Mar. 2011

B2C Authentic Source • Objective • To develop a Trusted Source of Data (TSD) to support the communication of authentic product data provided by brand owners to retailers, internet application providers, government, and consumers and shoppers using internet and mobile devices (phones, laptops, etc). • Progress • Project Board established - Feb 2011 • Strategy agreed by MB at Forum - Feb 2011 • Next Steps • Form B2C Expert Group – Apr 2011 • Present proposal to AC – Apr 2011 • Present proposal to GA – May 2011 • Present proposal to TCGF – Jun 2011
