Study Goals • Review current classification and compensation systems to ensure internal equity • Survey peer organizations to ensure external equity • Produce recommendations to provide BPS with a classification and compensation system that is equitable, both internally and externally
How do I Participate? • Orientation • Complete a Job Assessment Tool (all employees) • Complete Management Issues Tool (managers/supervisors) • Participate in focus groups • Participate in interviews (senior management)
What is the Job Assessment Tool? The Job Assessment Tool (JAT) is a document designed to gather information from you about your job. Your JAT is critical to the study, because the Evergreen team uses this information to: • Determine how work is organized • Recommend appropriate pay levels and ranges • Determine whether BPS is paying competitively and fairly • Design a new compensation and classification system that is fair and equitable for all employees
What is the Job Assessment Tool? The JAT is NOTused to: • Assess employee performance – it’s about what you do, not how well you do it • Determine or adjust staff size – no positions will be added or removed as a result of this study • Reduce any individual salaries
How do I Complete the JAT? • Available online 24 hours a day, 7 days a week • JATs will be available beginning next week (Monday, 7/23) • Each employee will be assigned a unique username and password • Must be completed within two weeks • Survey will close Friday, 8/3 for employees • Supervisor review will close Friday, 8/10
Job Assessment Tool Content The JAT consists of several sections: • Job Overview • Essential Job Functions • Education and Work Experience • Leadership, Working Conditions, Complexity, Decision Making, and Relationships Job Factors • Financial Responsibilities • Use of Equipment and Machinery • Type of Work Performed • Physical Abilities
Section 1 Job Overview Briefly provide an overview of your job, including a description of the purpose of your job and the type of work you do. This may be the same as the introduction to your current job description, but it does not need to be. Kickoff Results After
