Philippians 2:3 “Do nothing out of selfish ambition.” (What do I get?) “Do nothing out of ….. vain conceit.” (How do I look?)

Philippians 2:13 For it is God who worksin you to will and to act according to His good purpose.

TO DO GOOD WORKS (EPH 2:10) • To experience real worship, • To enjoy real fellowship with fellow believers, • To learn real discipleship, • To practice real ministry, and • To live out real evangelism.
AMBITION: STEWARDSHIP Genesis 1:28, “Be fruitful and increase in number, fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish, the birds and over every creature that moves on the ground.”
TO REFLECT THE CHARACTER OF GOD To reflect God’s love, joy, peace, patience, goodness, kindness, gentleness and self-control. (Gal 2:22)
Matthew 23:5a “Everything they do is for men to see.”
PHARISEES LOVED TO BE NOTICED 1.They wear wide phylacteries and long tassels. 2.They love the place of honor at banquets and most important seats in the synagogues. 3.They love to have men call them ‘Rabbi.’
HIS RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD THE TAX COLLECTOR TRUSTED GOD: First, he sought God’s righteousness, Second, he owned up his sins, And third, he worshipped God.
CONCLUSION Be the servant you were meant to be.
