  1. Virus Articles for “Speed Learning” – similar to “Speed Dating” Instructions: • Click on the link for your assigned article & read it. • Jot down a few notes as you read, those that will enable you to summarize the most important parts of the article. • When the timer goes off, those who were assigned even numbers will sit at the lab tables – you will be the talkers. Those with the odd numbers will be the listeners who will “speed learn”. Talkers will only have 1 minute to summarize their article to the listener. • After one full rotation is completed, the talkers will switch places with the listeners, reversing roles. • When completed, each person will be expected to complete a 3, 2 , 1 paper. (Write down 3 things you learned, 2 questions you still have, and 1 connection you can make between your new learning today and something you’ve already learned in this class.) • http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2012/12/121212130946.htm • http://t.healthyliving.msn.com/health-wellness/emerging-sars-like-virus-well-suited-to-attack-humans-study-1 • http://www.scientificamerican.com/article.cfm?id=birds-sound-the-alarm-on-west-nile-virus • http://www.scientificamerican.com/article.cfm?id=could-bacteria-fighting-viruses-replace-antibiotics • http://www.scientificamerican.com/article.cfm?id=anthrax-soil • http://www.scientificamerican.com/article.cfm?id=phage-microbiologiest-uses-viruses-fight-bacteria-vincent-fischetti • http://www.scientificamerican.com/podcast/episode.cfm?id=engineered-virus-harnesses-light-to-10-04-14 • http://www.scientificamerican.com/article.cfm?id=tumor-virus-vaccines • http://www.scientificamerican.com/article.cfm?id=climate-change-boosts-lethal-hendra-virus • http://www.scientificamerican.com/article.cfm?id=pig-flu-virus-strain-shown-have-pandemic-potential • http://www.scientificamerican.com/article.cfm?id=hiv-aids-latent-reservoir-treatment-cure • http://www.scientificamerican.com/article.cfm?id=bad-wraps-on-viruses • http://www.scientificamerican.com/article.cfm?id=zombie-insects • http://www.scientificamerican.com/article.cfm?id=bacteria-eating-viruses-may-power-cell-phones • http://www.scientificamerican.com/article.cfm?id=when-viruses-invade-the-brain • http://www.scientificamerican.com/article.cfm?id=why-do-we-get-the-flu-mos • http://www.scientificamerican.com/article.cfm?id=gesundheit-a-common-virus-could-boo-2010-08
