  2. cause • Social-the British uprooted the Acadians out of fear, they conquered them once already in 1713. • Political-George Washington was put in charge of the Virginian land claim in the Ohio River valley. • Economic- French were land grabbing for the fur trade in the Ohio River Valley.British had to take control of this land in order to continue westward.

  3. Effect • Social- Brutally uprooted and scattered as south as Louisiana. • Political- With a skirmish battle between George Washington’s detachment and the French, their leader was killed by George Washington. They returned with reinforcements and George Washington’s men had to retreat and it was the first shots fired in the new war. • Economic-France erected a chain of forts all along the Ohio river Valley to protect their land. Virginians secured 500,000 acres of land in this region. British and French colonists wanting to fight for their economic security and their way of life.
