Friends are fun • Friends are fun, And that’s not a pun. They really are fun, If you want to run. They’d roll in the sun, And play with a gun. They’d attack a nun Because friends are fun. They’d go and stun, The priest’s son. They’d hop a bun, Because friends are fun. Contents
Three stray dice • Three stray dice, • Three stray dice. • See how they roll, • See how they roll. • They all were tossed off the table top, • And fell on the floor with a silent plop, • Have you ever heard such a piece of slop? • With three stray dice. Contents
Flitter, Flitter, little fly • Flitter, flitter, little fly. • Go away, leave, good bye. • You annoy me so very much, • So go away, and annoy a Dutch. • Flitter, flitter, little fly. • Go away, leave, good bye. Contents
Traffic An oil tanker, Who’s driver’s a banker, Rushed along the road. And as I sat there, Breathing the air, I thought (in silent mode), “Oh why didn’t I stay, And laugh away, In my lovely house on the field? Reading my book, And warm in a nook, Instead of stuck in a yield! • Several huge trucks, • Holding masses of ducks, • Are honking their horns at random. • And the shiny cars, • Are rowed up in bars, • And in between all is a tandem. • Contents
Food • Food is good, • That’s something to say. • I love to throw it, • Up and away! • Its savory pleasures, • Melt on your tongue. • And it slides all the way, • To the bottom rung! • Contents
The tree The way it felt, Against my hand. I remember, I remember, It was the pride of the land. It used to shelter me, From the wind and the coldness. I remember, I remember, It gave me warmth and boldness. But now it droops, And leans and sways. Yet I remember, I remember, As I grow in my days. Contents • As I gaze at the tree, • With its old branches drooping. • I remember, I remember, • My memory is looping. • I remember • How it stood strong and tall. • I remember, I remember, • How it cared for all. • It used to cuddle me, • As I played in its embrace. • I remember, I remember, • That’s where happiness took place.
What would you be? A hairy rat, Who had gained some fat, And always wears a hat. It just occurred, I’d be a bird, Allowed to roam with my herd. I would be blurred, And my cry would be heard, And I would be feathered, not furred. But what would you be, If you could be, What you wanted to be? Contents • What would you be, • If you could be, • What you wanted to be? • A critter maybe, • Or a plate-sized flea, • Or maybe a bee drinking tea. • Would you be, • A chimpanzee, • Or a bursting cherry tree. • Would you be a cat, • About to eat a gnat, • And curled up on a mat.
If I could fly • If I could fly, • I’d soar o’er mountains. • The sea and I would say “Hi!” • And I’d dive into fountains. • I’d feel the cool grasp, • Of a summer’s cloud. • Heavy with rain, • And the thunder loud. I would fly everywhere, Instead of walking From here to there. Yet here I am grounded, Stuck to the floor. With my leg itching, To fly and soar!! Contents
life • Life is a gift, • A treasure you could say. • A present or an offering, • So enjoy it and play! • Some people waste it, • By doing bad things. • But what do they gain? • Certainly not wings! But beings who use it, To create love and peace. Are rewarded with happiness, And respect (plus a feast). So live life to its greatest, And enjoy it while you can. Because life is a true gift, And better than being a pan! Contents
The Well • There once was a man named Bell, • Who fell down a great big well. • He screamed and yelled, • And cussed and smelled, • But it was only as deep as a cell. • Contents
Fred • There once was a man named Fred, • Who always though he was dead. • So one day he bought, • And old wooden cot, • And forever in there went to bed. • Contents
The cod • There once was a male named Todd, • Whom everyone thought was odd. • He was fat and ugly, • And not very snugly, • Because he was a cod! • Contents
