  3. Response • What do you think about Otto Weininger’s quote? • Do you think such a thing would be said in this modern time? • BE PREPARED TO SHARE!

  6. Song Lyrics • The previous song lyrics were performed by Usher and led to millions of dollars in profit. • What do the lyrics actually say? • What do you think of it?

  7. My Guesses • Excuse 1 – Freedom of Speech • Excuse 2 – Turn it off if you don’t want to listen. • Excuse 3 – The song isn’t hurting anybody. • Excuse 4 – It’s just a stupid song!

  8. Response to an Image • Look at the image on the document camera and write about what is being sold. Be prepared to share.

  9. MISOGYNY • Noun – hatred of women; strong prejudice against women; a negative attitude toward women as a group

  10. The Umbrella • Entire cultures may be misogynist. • Can include domestic responsibilities. • Demands of silence from women. • Includes violence against women that is physical, verbal, mental, or emotional. • Seeps into what we watch, read, listen to, say, and act.

  11. Journal #4 • Based on our lesson today and what you learned, respond to the following. Remember to write 1 FULL PAGE. What did you learn today? In what ways do you support misogyny in the United States? What role do you actively or passively play in demeaning women?
