Computer review exercise • Create a word processing file on a floppy disk and save to P drive • Use the FTP program and put the file in your team folder on my server • Retrieve the PPT file ‘c807w2a’ from the 807 folder on the U drive • Transfer this PPT file to your team folder on my server • Retrieve ‘gentrymodel’ from Lprice folder on my server

Performance Analysis • PPT summary of Mager Ch. 4 • Discussion of different procedures • What types of performance problems have you identified? • Retrieve the PAWS software from drive U • Use PAWS for the problem you selected and save the result file in 2 places • Floppy disk and your folder on my server (rename the file)

Types of problems addressed by instructional designers • See Mager p. 29 “Suppose …… • Training to get workers to reduce product defects • A job aide to help principals/teachers apply suspension and expulsion rules consistently • In-service training on the use of e-mail software • See Mager p.6 “When ……. • Other ideas?

Diagramming software • Retrieve SNAP from U then install it on C if not already there • Load the samples and page through them • Run the Quick Tour • Practice constructing diagrams • Start constructing a SNAP flow diagram for Figure 6.5 in Mager p. 69 • Save it in 2 places (floppy and my server)

Search for information and resources on instructional design • Saving pages and addresses in Netscape and Internet Explorer • Pages -- File / Save … As / specify a drive and directory / rename file to clarify what it is about • Addresses -- add bookmarks or copy/paste addresses to a Word file • Search for more on topics being studied • Search for information reflecting different perspectives

  10. Retaining internet addresses • I. Explorer -- Favorites / Add to Favorites • Netscape -- Communicator / Bookmarks / Add bookmark • Where the bookmarks are stored • I. Explorer -- Windows / Favorites / saved as Windows 95 shortcuts • Netscape -- Program Files / Netscape / Users / xxxx / bookmark.htm • Copy to floppy and folder on my server
