  4. BA Degree Plan (4 parts) • University Core Curriculum (42 hours) • “C” rule—all courses used to satisfy the core curriculum must be completed with a grade of “C” or better. This also applies to courses transferred from another institution. • Liberal Arts General Education Requirements (24-27 hours) • ESOL 2303 (for those following the ESOL sequence) • 2300 level language requirement (6 hours) • 18 hours of Upper-division Block Electives • Major Field (27-40 hours) • Check individual majors for the required hours and number of advanced level courses required. The hours vary per major. • Minimum grade point average of “C” (2.0) • Minor Field (18-24 hours) • Check individual minors for the required hours and number of advanced level courses required. The hours vary per minor. • Minimum grade point average of “C” (2.0)

  12. Degrees and Majors • Bachelor of Music (BM) • General Music—choral and instrumental (all-levels teaching program) • Performance—orchestra and instrumental, keyboard instruments, or voice • Theory and Composition

Degrees and Majors • Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) • Students who wish to earn a BSW degree must apply to and be accepted by the Social Work Program. • Requires no minor • Admission to Field Instruction • 2.0 g.p.a. in the Liberal Arts foundation • 2.5 g.p.a. for all Social Work courses by the end of the 2nd semester of the foundation professional year of study • “C” or better in: SOWK 2310, 2331, 2320, 3320, 3330, 3341, 3355, and CS 1310 or CIS 2320 • Upon completion of the program the student is eligible to test for licensure from the Texas State Board of Social Work Examiners as a Licensed Social Worker.
