  2. HABITAT The Duckbill Platypus lives in the deciduous forests of Australia.

  3. APPEARANCE The platypus is brown and black. It has claws and webbed feet. It has light yellow on it’s stomach.

  4. DIET A platypus is a carnivore. They eat small water animals like aquatic insect larvae of caddisflies mayflies two-winged flies , fresh water shrimp ,annelid worms ,yabbies and crayfish.

  5. MOTION The Platypus swims and walks using four legs.

  6. ANCESTORS/DESCENDENTS Fossils of there ancestors were found in South America and Australia.

  7. LIFE SPAN 1 15 The Platypus can live up to 15 years!

  8. COMMON/SCIENTIFIC NAME OrnithorhynchusAnatinus The Platypus’s scientific name was OrnithorhynchusAnatinus.
