  4. Policing • The Police in Mumbai is over worked • They have to do duty for long hours • Though they have the facility of Health check up and treatment – they can not avail of it for lack of time • They get Stressed and fatigued • They are short of staff • Law and Order therefore gets affected

PUBLIC • Public generally criticizes the Police • Not knowing the facts about their working conditions: • The Lions Clubs have been assisting the Police Department for the past few years in providing them with necessities like Masks - Helmets - Water Coolers Building rooms - Chowkies Health Check ups and Treatment facilities as part of their SERVICE ACTIVITIES. With the help of their Sponsors.

  6. PUBLIC AWARENESS • It is high time that an awareness program be arranged • Public should know how hard the Police works • Public can come forward and ASSIST • Lions Clubs International, District 323 A3 has a Project in Mind to Assist Police and create Public Police cooperation

TRAINING • The Lions Clubs will train the volunteers with assistance of Police in • Registration with all the background information, photos, fingerprinting etc. of Domestic employees, • Drivers, • Security personnel – watchmen • The Lions Club will teach them the Art and science of self healing

  8. Selecting volunteers • The Police will select, To Serve as Paid Volunteers, from the area of each Police Beat chowkey, some Service minded, educated unemployed, • Youth, • Retired police personnel, • Senior citizens, • Destitute women in need of employment • Ex- Servicemen

Assisting Senior Citizens(Continued) • This Volunteer Force will find out the difficulties faced by senior citizens living in each building falling in their Beat area and inform the Police Authorities. Teach them Pain Management by Art and science of self healing. • The senior citizens, who are interested in or trying to find an avenue for keeping themselves busy and doing social service will also be encouraged to be part of this Project

EMPLOYMENT OPPURTUNITY • The Volunteers shall not get pay for the first month while on training • They shall get payment after training period depending on the efforts they put in from Rupees 3,000 – 10,000 per month. • The payment will be arranged by the Lions Clubs. • The senior citizens and others interested in assisting the project will be provided with snacks, awards and rewards by Lions.

TRAINING PUBLIC IN CIVIC AND HEALTH MANAGEMENT • The Volunteer Force will be provided with TV sets 32 inch, • Transport facilities like tricycles for carrying equipment to site • Communication facility like cell phones, Lap top, Printer, web cam, finger printing equipment, Software for the above • Cost of above, equipment will be taken care by the Lions Clubs by arranging donors, sponsors

The Project Operation • The Lions Clubs will run the project with close cooperation and assistance of Police • Police will provide training to volunteers in collecting Data required by them • Police will provide CDs showing the difficult situation they are working in rain, polluted atmosphere etc. • The harm done to victims of accidents made by unmindful drunk and rash drivers

  13. The Project Operation continued • The Lions Club will train the Volunteers on how to organize Public Health Camps • Train them in Art & Science of Self Healing without medicines as far as possible. • Look after and caring of senior citizens

The Project Operation continued • The Volunteer Force may also be expected to keep a watch on the working of security personnel employed by the Housing Cooperatives Societies, • The Fire Fighting equipment upkeep done by the society managing committees. • Keep a check on employment of child labor in the area. • Any other Civic duty to be monitored

Benefits of Project • The Police will get health treatment available at their place of work, • They will find extra work force to assist them in better policing • Health of General Public & Police will improve by learning Art & Science of Self Healing • Law and Order situation will improve • Police will get public cooperation & respect
