  3. Some genres of literary text which fit to be classified as the narrative text: • Folktales, it includes fables, legend, myth, or realistic tales • Mysteries, fantasy, science or realistic fiction

  4. Generic Structure of Narrative1. Orientation: Introducing the participants and informing the time and the place.2. Complication: Describing the rising crises which the participants have to do with3. Resolution: Showing the way of participant to solve the crises, better or worse

  5. MythsCharacteristics Story that gives reason for events. Some myths explain natural events such as rainbows or seasons and others explain how the world began. Myths about people and gods explain why people do things. They all provide lessons about good and bad behavior. • Example : • Hercules. • Oedipus. • Prometheus. • Pandora. • Bijuu.

  6. LegendsCharacteristics Combines a real event or real person’s unusual life story with the exaggeration and heroic actions. Example : • Lutung Kasarung. • Prambanan Temple. • Sangkuriang. Yamata no Orochi

  7. FolktalesCharacteristics A folktale is a story that has been told for a long time by a group of people. Example : • Little Red Riding Hood. • Malin Kundang. • Bawi Kuwu. • Kaguya Hime. • Momotaro. Little red riding hood

  8. Fairy Tale Characteristics • Make Believe. • Happens Long Ago. • Has Magic. • Happily Ever After. • Evil Person. Example : • Cinderela. • Sleeping beauty. • Beauty and The Beast. • The Little Mermaid.
