WHOLE SCHOOL PRIORITIES • LEADERSHIP & MANAGEMENT 1.1 The broad and balanced creative curriculum helps pupils to acquire knowledge, skills and understanding in all aspects of their education 1.2 Subject leaders have a secure subject knowledge and understanding of age – related expectations and skills progression; they lead their subject and are involved in monitoring and evaluation. 1.3 To secure recognition as a ‘School of Sanctuary’ following audit procedures 1.4 To forge excellent working relationships with cluster schools leading to the mutually beneficial sharing of good practice. • TEACHING AND LEARNING 2.1 Teaching assistants are deployed to support children who have been identified through monitoring; their role is clearly defined and they are well directed by class teachers, using a range of strategies to deepen children’s understanding 2.2 All teachers mark work in line with school policy, providing children with timely and accurate feedback 2.3 Teachers use lesson time to provide pupils with incisive feedback, which is capitalised on to secure improvement • PDBW 4.1 Behaviour management strategies are used and disseminated effectively by all staff. Children are encouraged to take responsibility for their own and others’ behaviour. 4.2 Children are confident, self-assured learners. Their excellent attitudes to learning have a strong, positive impact on their progress. 4.3 Attendance is regularly monitored on a variety of levels and intervention is tailored to meet individual needs impacting positively on overall attendance and levels of PA 4.4 Pupils have an excellent understanding of how to stay safe online and of the dangers of inappropriate use of mobile technology and social networking sites. 4.5 Pupils have an age appropriate understanding of healthy relationships, throughout the implementation of a new HRSE curriculum, and are confident in staying safe from abuse and exploitation 4.6 Wrap – around provision is safe, purposeful, well-resourced and has a positive impact upon the children attending.

EARLY YEARS PRIORITIES EARLY YEARS • 3.1 The curriculum provides a broad range of interesting and demanding experiences, including periods of sustained learning, that meet children’s needs and helps them to make progress towards the early learning goals • 3.2 Adults have high expectations of children based on accurate assessment of children’s skills, knowledge and understanding when they join the school. Practitioners use regular and precise assessments of children’s learning and development to carefully plan activities that are suitably challenging for all children. • 3.3 learning activities are developed and adapted throughout the year to meet the changing needs of the children and prepare them for the transition into Year 1 • 3.4 The classroom and wider EYFS environment are meaningfully ‘language rich’ and promote reading and the recognition of letters and words. • 3.5 The procedures regarding supervision of EYFS staff is embedded and consistently applied.

  9. Number • Early Learning Goal : • Children count reliably with numbers from 1-20, place them in order and say which number is one more or one less than a given number. Using quantities and objects, they add and subtract two single-digit numbers and count on or back to find the answer. They solve problems, including doubling, halving and sharing.

  10. READING • Home reading and Guided reading • Early Learning Goal: • Children read and understand simple sentences. They use phonic knowledge to decode regular words and read them aloud accurately. They also read some common irregular words. They demonstrate understanding when talking with others about what they have read.

  11. WRITING • Early Learning Goal: • Children use their phonic knowledge to write words in ways which match their spoken sounds. They also write some irregular common words. They write simple sentences which can be read by themselves and others. Some words are spelt correctly and others are phonetically plausible.

  18. ATTENDANCE • Whole school target of 97% • PA – 95% • Half termly updates • Must be in school before 8.45 • No holidays authorised • Proof of medical – if in doubt, send them in; we can always call if they are ill

ParentPay • Still owed £6000 for lunches, BC, ASC • Must register online to activate account even if not using online service – can be done in school by Miss Hannah / Mrs Phillips • Can still send cash / cheques into school to pay • Lunches / Breakfast / After school payment must be kept up to date – ideally paid in advance • Trips and paid clubs can be paid over the year but must be paid by the end of July • Can use to pre-book lunches & breakfast /ASC • No need to sign a permission slip for trips if paid for before the trip goes ahead
