Practical Application • But this is not about letting communication direct your research • It should enhance your research • Adding additional questions • Using additional methodologies • Convincing academics and business are very different things
Integrating Research & Communication • Not two independent processes • The two can work together • When I speak – hand out questionnaire • When I write an article – include weblink • When I collect data – I look for potential end-users • Media exposure facilitates access to organisations
Benefits • Increases external validity • Access to unique samples • Adds unique perspectives • Facilitates grant applications • More relevant
