Ca 425 applications annually - for 3 bill NOK…… • Dividedamong 11 expert referee panels: • Evolution and ecology: 2 panels • Physiology: 2 panels • Medicine: 4 panels • MolecularBiology: 3 panels • Success rate in 2012: • personal post docs ( success rate 15% for 2012) • 45% ofapplicationswith grade 5 or better in 2012 • researcherprojects (success rate 4.7% for 2012) • 29% ofapplicationshad grade 6 or 7 in 2012

The 11 expert referee panels • Usescientificmerit as theonlycriterion and rank the best in two lists: • Evaluation according to: Originality, clearhypotheses, methodschosen, realismofproject ….qualificationsofresearchgroup, publicationrecordofproject manager, international and nationalcollaboration…

FRIMEDBIO Komitè • Oversees and synthesize referee evaluations from the 11 expert panels. • Decideon a ranked list ofresearcher and personal post docproposalsthatmeritfunding • Funding 2012: • 144mill NOK to 21 projects (17 researcherprojects and 4 personal post docs) • +34mill to 4 ERC- applicationsthat just not gotfunded by ERC • +«Fellesløftet»
