You have to keep in mind that these books are meant for young adult readers, and they aren't going to be completely deep, eloquent, or complex. They're meant to be fun to read. And as far as being historically accurate, it's just a fictional story! It wasn't meant to be "historically accurate." People need to stop being overly critical of these books! Take them for what they are-entertaining stories meant for a younger audience!0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Love it!By admRead the book in high school, and to this day, I remember the story. I was so excited to find the series, and once again, I found myself carried away by love and adventure!1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Wonderful story!By Michelle BI originally read this series years ago. They have a great sense of adventure and a fast paced reading style. LOVE THEM!! Get all three in the series! Reluctantly working at her father's tavern, which is frequented by loutish sailors, early 1800s teen Rosie finds herself without a family or livelihood after a brawl ends her father's life and is taken in by young sea captain Raider Lyons. From School Library JournalGrade 9 Up?Set in 1814, Into the Wind offers a plucky heroine, swashbuckling action, and a fast pace that will keep YA fans of historical romance turning its pages eagerly. Following a barroom brawl that results in the death of Rosie's father, the fiery destruction of the tavern itself, rescue by a dashing young sea captain, and a stunning first kiss, Rosie, 17, sets sail on a ship embroiled in battling the British Navy. En route, she faces more perils than Pauline as well as plots against her virtue. Throughout her breathless adventures, she proves more captivating than Shirley Temple, charming crew and a cruel captain alike. Nifty escape reading for romance fans.?Doris A.
