2. Thesis How does art influence people and thier societies, or people individually, and what is it limited to?

3. What sparked my interest? I've doing some form of dance since I was four years old. I started out doing ballet, but for the last seven years it's been dance within color guard. Winterguard international has a motto: "Sport of the Arts" That motto is the reason I want to research how far art can be defined. Does art have to be tangable? If not, where does it end? I haven't done much in the way of any research on a topic like this, other than experience and observation, so I'd like to see what I can learn.

4. Why is it so important to research? • Most people think of art as a painting on canvas or a drawing in a sketch pad. • I want people to broaden thier idea of what art really is. • Historically, art may have influenced the way our culture grew. So can we influence how we continue to grow?
