  3. 1 Kings 16:33 (NIV) Ahab did more to arouse the anger of the Lord, the God of Israel, than did all the kings of Israel before him.

  4. 1 Kings 17:1 (NIV) “As the Lord, the God of Israel, lives, whom I serve, there will be neither dew nor rain in the next few years except at my word.”

  5. 1 Kings 17:6 (NIV) The ravens brought him bread and meat in the morning and bread and meat in the evening, and he drank from the brook.

  6. 1 Kings 18:36-37 (NIV) “Lord, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel, let it be known today that you are God in Israel and that I am your servant and have done all these things at your command. Answer me, Lord, answer me, so these people will know that you, Lord, are God, and that you are turning their hearts back again.”

  18. 1 Kings 19:9-13 (NRSV) Then the word of the Lord came to him, saying, “What are you doing here, Elijah?” He answered, “I have been very zealous for the Lord, the God of hosts; for the Israelites have forsaken your covenant, thrown down your altars, and killed your prophets with the sword.

  19. 1 Kings 19:9-13 (NRSV) I alone am left, and they are seeking my life, to take it away.” He said, “Go out and stand on the mountain before the Lord, for the Lord is about to pass by.” Now there was a great wind, so strong that it was splitting mountains and breaking rocks in pieces before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind;

  20. 1 Kings 19:9-13 (NRSV) and after the wind an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake; and after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire; and after the fire a sound of sheer silence. When Elijah heard it, he wrapped his face in his mantle and went out and stood at the entrance of the cave.
