OS map work • Past paper 1999 • Your description could include the following; meanders, ox-bow lakes, floodplain ( 1.5km), tributaries, drainage ditches. • Credit could also be given for suggesting that the section between 414126 and 407118 is straight and has probably been modified by human interference. • Credit can also be given for reference to the height and shape of the valley. • 1 mark for each descriptive term. Up to two mark may be awarded for specific grid references. No G.Rs max of 4 marks.
