Tucker) • Small territory = easy to build network • Smaller size business = easy to reach business owner • Loyalty • Family oriented • Advertising dollars – have more impact • Centrally located – easy to reach more densely populated counties & Manhattan • Get to know your competitors’ expertise and can build symbiotic relationships • High median income

  2. WEAKNESSES(Team Leader: E. Silverman) • High elderly population • Pockets of ethnic groups who do business amongst themselves • Small businesses – not much money to spend • Transportation in and out of county limited • Although medium income very high most people who live here don’t do business here

  3. OPPORTUNITIES(Team Leader: P. DeLisser) • Networking • Ethnic groups – diversity of people creating niches to develop business • RBA as a resource – events – many opportunities that other similar associations don’t provide • Quality of life –easier to attract employees – low overhead • Location – close to a large market • Economically cost effective

THREATS(Team Leader: Kurt Griffith) • Awareness – county gov’t not proactive in attracting business • Local competitors – Bergen/Orange/Westchester very dynamic • Serious transportation issues • Cost of living while good is deteriorating • Workplace housing – people who work here can’t afford to live here • Younger people leaving county and Drain of Talent - many working in NYC • Residential development has been on the high end as compared to the working community • Tax structure hurting us • Perception that Rockland is non-existent - insular
