Conclusions • First compendium of adaptation actions financed through three Global Environment Facility funds. • 10 types of 158 adaptation activities were identified through an analysis of 92 projects in 70 countries. • Results show that early ideas of climate adaptation theoreticians are consistent with results from the field. • This typology serves to provide insight into what exactly adaptation is in practical terms. • The typology is a beginning for furthering harmonization between theory and practice.
