Battle of the Plains of Abraham Plains of Abraham was a farmers field. If the British soldiers could make their way to the fortress they would be able to attack the French where there weak. The British on September 3rd stepped ashore in the night and crept up a steep path to the field and the British army got in place on the Plains of Abraham. The Fort had six thousand soldiers and three hundred upper great Odawa allies. Forty-four thousand British soldiers sat on the plains because reinforcements did not arrive.
The British cloths were red coats that went to their knees, with skirts, lapels, and cuffs to show the lining of the regiments color. The French army’s cloths were a red kepi and trousers of blue greatcoat a heavy pack and a long bayonet. Legend Red-British Blue-French
The battle lasted about fifteen minutes. The British troops resisted the advance of the French troops. Both generals were wounded during the battle. Wolfe the British general got a blow that would kill him in only minutes. In Montcalm the French general died the next morning from a musket ball wound to the rib cage. The French remaining in Canada and the rest of North America and were under pressure from the British. As the French attached the British in several battles after Quebec was captured. The British let their hold on the fort. With in four years with the treaty of Paris most of the French's stuff in eastern North America would be given to Great Britain.
