Admissions • Admissions application fee normally $40, unless student is: • Pell Eligible • ACT/SAT fee waived • Free or reduced lunch • HS counselor or administrator advocates for student • GEAR Up • New! Transfer confirmation fee is $100 (down from $300) and is put toward tuition bill. • More coordination with WY CC Partners on admissions activities. • Revamping Admissions Web-site
Financial Aid New! Transfer Scholarships • WUE Western Undergraduate Exchange • Earned Associate Degree, 3.4 GPA or higher and from a WUE state (AK,AZ, CA,CO, HI, ID, MT, NV, NM, ND, OR, SD, UT & WA) will pay tuition at 150% of resident tuition rate for 2 years. • Nebraska Transfer Scholars Award • Earned Associate Degree, 3.4 GPA or higher and a resident of Nebraska will pay tuition at 150% of resident tuition rate for 2 years. • UW Transfer Award • Earned Associate Degree, 3.4 GPA or higher from Wyoming or non-WUE (excluding NE) state will receive a scholarship of $1000/yr for 2 years. • For more information: uwyo.edu/scholarships or 307-766-2411
Orientation/Advising/Registration • New! Transfer Advising and Registration Days • Held at UW and the WY community colleges this spring to assist students in getting financial aid information, advised and registered for classes. • Want to encourage students to start thinking earlier about continuing their education to earn bachelor degree…and get them into the courses they need to progress in an efficient manner.

Prepping for Transfer to UW • Identify student’s educational goals, interests and plans. • Look for the appropriate program at UW on the Degree Plan web-site. • Determine whether or not the student is planning to complete an associate degree. • If the student completes an AA, AB, ADN or AS, he/she will have satisfied the lower division USP requirements at UW (possible exceptions of FY, V and COM3). • If the student does not complete an associate degree, he/she will have previous college credits evaluated in a course by course manner. • If the student is close to completing an associate degree and want to transfer before completing it, encourage him/her to consider a reverse transfer. 4) Encourage student to opt into Transfer Advance or the Transfer Success Center.

Transfer Transitions • Encourage students to be on the lookout for e-mails from UW about any Enrollment Next Steps AND Transition Programs. • UW is in the process of developing intentional onboarding and transitional programs for transfer students.
