Brainstorming: Disaster!
Turning our thoughts into a full sentence. Expository writing (factual writing) uses a certain format: Topic Sentence Fact, Detail, or Reason Sentence Example, Explanation, Evidence Setence Concluding Sentence
Green --- Go! Introduce your topic. • Yellow --- Slow down! Give a fact, detail, or reason. • Red—Stop! Explain yourself. • Green– Remind your reader of your topic.

Then I would include a fact, detail, or reason • ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ • My home would be very dirty.
Then I would give an example or explain my f/d/r • _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ • There would be garbage outside on the lawn, and all over the floor.
