  3. Let’s Review RAFTS …Stands for: Role...who am I writing as? Myself? A character? What qualifies me to fulfill this role?Audience...who will read this piece of writing? Will my tone or content be affected by this audience?Form...what form will best suit my purpose? Has it been assigned or may I choose?

  4. Continue…. Form...what form will best suit my purpose? Has it been assigned or may I choose?Strong Verb...In a word what would describe what I hope to accomplish with this piece of writing? Inform? Entertain? Persuade?

  5. Writing Scenarios a. Write a letter to the school board asking for permission to attend a school out of your boundary. b. Write a short story with an autumn theme. c. Write a letter to a friend you haven't seen since grade one. d. Write an email to your teacher explaining why you were absent from tutorial. e. Write a book report on your favourite novel.
