Drawing a scene • The descriptions in the story are very detailed – for example: “Jack continued on his winding journey through the forest until he came across a massive fern in the middle of a clearing.  He noticed a tiny, radiant flower growing on a leaf of the fern. Jack had never seen anything so beautiful. The flower had five golden petals, and in its centre something like an eye that flickered and glowed against the darkness of the night.”

  3. Drawing a scene • Choose a part of the story where you have had a strong picture in your mind of what something looked like. • Have a go at drawing it!

  4. What’s most important? 1. What are the most important things in your life? Write between 10 and 20 things that love, that make you happy, that are important to you 2. In your group now choose the 9 most important things and circle them on your sheet 3. Complete a diamond ranking sheet – organise your most important things with the most important at the top, and the least important at the bottom 4. What was ranked most important the most number of times?
