ARNORTH GEO OVERVIEW • ARNORTH/ JFLCC Geospatial Staff/ Tools: • - Full time 0/2 Geospatial Analyst • - Crisis: Additional support coordinated for case-by-case • - ARSTRAT, AMRDEC, FORSCOM • - Three Digital Terrain Support Systems (Main and 2 TF HQ) • - Geospatial Database: None • - HSIP: Yes • Tools of the end user (non-Geo): • - Internet (multiple sources of mapping and imagery) • - Microsoft Office • - Google Earth Enterprise Client (Corps Globe, SAGE, DHS Earth) • - GeoPDF (growing slowly) • Potential Tactical Ground Support Tools: • - Automated Route Recon Kit (ARRK) • - Tele-Engineer Tool Kit • - ike 504 w/ GATER • - Civil Air Patrol Full Motion Video (FMV) “Know the past, Anticipate the Future, Show the Way!”

ARNORTH GEO FOCUS • ARNORTH Focus Areas: DSCA and HLD • - 133 Cities • - Natural Hazards Map (most impacted areas) • - Borders • Products Required: • - Urban Tactical Planners (UTP) w/ authoritative Search and • Rescue (SAR) grids • - 1:24k of critically impacted areas • - 1:50K/1:100K Topographic maps if border locations • - High resolution imagery (pre and post event) • - Products identifying age of coverage • Pre/ Post Event Modeling (authoritative): • - Floods -SHAKE - SLOSH • - Dam (critical) - Debris • - Plume - Levees (top 177 at risk) • - Mud Slide - Health/ Disease “Know the past, Anticipate the Future, Show the Way!”

ARNORTH GEO SUPPORT FOCUS • Support Focus: • - End user on ground (non-Geo and limited Geo tools) • - Push not pull data and products • - Development of intuitive tools (best of practice) • - Limiting number of locations they must search • - Authoritative sources of information (Federal, State • and local) • - Seamless and rapid access to crisis data and products • - Ease of Discovery (centralized or decentralized) • - File size, format and classification (UNCLASSIFIED) • - FIREWIRE • - FTP • - Google Earth EC • - Seamless access to standard mapping • - Continued growth of HSIP Gold and Freedom • - Reverse data sharing from on-ground sources (process) • - Partnerships and collaboration to develop the USG Geo • teams responding in support of crisis “Know the past, Anticipate the Future, Show the Way!”
