Introducing this Unit • The cover that you have been given for your Design & Technology folder is plain and unattractive. You will be putting your name and group number onto the front, but it would be better to follow the example of many companies and manufacturers by creating an individually designed logo.
Design Brief • Your design brief is to design a logo for the front cover of your Design & Technology folder. The logo should include equipment used in DT to help reflect the subject. • The following slides include some examples of previous pupils’ work which may give you some ideas.
Today’s Activities • Complete the measuring exercise on page 5 of the Logo Workbook. This will increase your skills of measuring, spacing and understanding parallel lines. • Add your name, group and “Design & Technology” to your folder. • The following slide shows you how to lay this out:

Homework Activity • Collect examples of logos in the following categories: sportswear, car manufacturers, large companies, and foods. • The following slides will give you some ideas of logos you may wish to include.
