  4. JKC Lab • ESTABLISHED BY COMMISSIONERATE OF COLLEGIATE EDUCATION, Govt. of Andhra Pradesh in the year 2005 in the Govt. Degree Colleges. • The innovative, sophisticated Jawahar Knowledge Center labs coupled with intensive three month training by trained experts in Communication, Soft Skills, Computer and analytical skills are expected to improve the student’s ability to compete and succeed.

JKC Lab • JKC Lab has Thin client Technology • Thin client is a computer terminal which doesn’t have any processing unit or any hard disk drive which runs on flash memory which directly communicates with server and uses its Operating System and applications. • Specifications • Processor 1 GHz • Flash Memory 512 MB • N/W Port 10/100 Mbps • Sound Card • USB • Serial Ports • PS2 ports • Power consumption only 60 Watts

JKC Lab Solving a Lab problem • Check List when a problem occurs in JKC Lab • Server Side • Ensure that all the devices are receiving power supply (CPU,Monitor,Keyboard,mouse)/not. • If any one of the gadgets are not receiving power replace the one with the one which is working & we can finalized the problem. • If No power Supply to CPU – Check the power cable and plug or replace power cable • Any error message while booting - might be Operating System Failure • Note the Error message displaying in the front side LED of server • Note the server Tag and call to concerned call center numbers or mail to JKC service mail (services.jkclabs@gmail.com)

  12. JKC Lab Login in to Thin Clients Give the Username & Password in the above shown screen & click Login

  13. JKC Lab After Logging into the Thin client You will get the above screen then right click on the desktop and choose operating system (win2003)

  14. JKC Lab After choosing OS you will get the OS User login details give any username and enter password and click OK button, you will get the Desktop

JKC Lab If Problem while Logging into Operating System physical Verification • Ensure that the power is ON to the Thin Client • Ensure that the LAN cable is Plugged in for Thin Client and the Light is glowing on the back side of the Thin client • Once restart the thin client and try to re login

  16. JKC Lab Problem :If Thin client is not showing “win2003” option in Thin client Desktop • Check the LAN cable • Login into the Administrator account of Thin client by giving the username and password

JKC Lab Right Click  choose Control panel,  choose server and if you find any item deleted them, & create a new Item by choosing OS, Give the server IP  Choose the ports what you have to use and choose the screen resolution size, and choose sound card, and never tick the auto login option then save the settings, close the application and restart the Thin Client and try to connect.

  22. JKC Lab • How to find the IP of server • click on the Icon on the System Tray • Local Area Connection Status screen will appear

  23. JKC Lab • 1) Click the Properties button • 2) Select last item (Internet Protocol(TCP/IP) and click Properties

  25. JKC Lab • Server Operating System Installation • Clearing all the partitions and creating new partitions and installing Windows Server 2003 Operating system • Reinstalling Windows Server Operating system

JKC Lab • Insert Dell System Build & Update Utility CD in to Drive • Press F2 for choosing Boot Device • Press ESC key when an Boot menu shown • Choose Server OD Installation when the Installation Menu shown • Choose Date & Time • Choose the Server name (Ex – Power Edge 2900) • Select Operating System (Ex: Windows Server 2003 Service pack 2) • Then a screen shows asking for Weather to create Utility partition choose Yes and select Continue • Then Choose “ Configure RAID” I the raid configuration menu & click Continue • Choose RAID1 in the configuration model i.e. RAID-0 or RAID -1 & click Continue • Choose NTFS file system in the file system choosing menu and enter the primary partition size & click continue • Provide IP address and click continue • Enter Organization name and click continue • Copying of Setup Files process will continues for a while it depends on the system performance to complete the task

JKC Lab • CD will automatically ejects after the copying of files completes • It asks to insert DELL System Console & Agent CD, insert it • Again Copying of file will continue and after completion of the task automatically CD will eject and it asks to insert Windows server 2003 Operating system CD, insert it and click Finish

JKC Language Lab Introduction The ever increasing stress on the effective communication skills, computer knowledge and soft skills has strongly inspired the Commissionerate of Collegiate Education to provide effective coaching in these areas so as to train students in skills.Mere academic degree is not enough and every student should be capable of surviving in this competitive and extremely volatile job market. Therefore the Commissionerate of Collegiate Education has implemented student friendly and student oriented initiatives like the establishment of Language Labs to educate, train and support the career aspirations of students in Government Degree Colleges of Andhra Pradesh.
