  3. *Anatomy of Female System • Ovaries: • produce ova (eggs) during ovulation • Produces the hormone estrogen • Fallopian Tubes: • egg travels to the uterus; where fertilization takes place!

  5. Anatomy of Female System • Menstruation (“the period”) • The monthly shedding of the endometrium • Endometrium:the lining of the uterus that a fertilized egg will implant in or shed if no egg is fertilized
