Statistical System of Serbia&Montenegro DEVELOPMENT TRENDS OF OFFICIAL STATISTICS IN THE STATE UNION OF SERBIA AND MONTENEGRO • By Constitutional Chapter, adopted in February 2003, Federal Republic of Yugoslavia ceased to exist, and the state union of Serbia and Montenegro was formed • Only few institutions, mainly of coordinative character, remained at the level of state union. Among them is the small statistical office

Statistical System of Serbia&Montenegro • Parallel with this organizational changes, the process of modernization and restructuring of statistical system of Serbia and Montenegro also started • Main goal of this process is harmonization and standardization of statistical work and bringing it in line with those of the countries in the region and in the Europe, thus regaining the capacity and status it had back in the eighties of one of the better official statistics in Europe.
