Why and Who is NE-CAN? • Increasing atmospheric CO2 has lead to a more acidic ocean with impacts on the marine environment • OA’s effects have been seen in the shellfish industries on West and East coasts • NE-CAN is a nexus of scientists, federal and state agency representatives, resource managers, and affected industry partners dedicated towards coordinating and guiding regional observing, research, and modeling endeavors NE-CAN is all of us!
