1 John 2:24 (ESV) Let what you heard from the beginning abide in you. If what you heard from the beginning abides in you, then you too will abide in the Son and in the Father.
1 Peter 4:16 (ESV) Yet if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in that name.
Ephesians 4:11–14 (ESV) And He gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes.
Implications & Applications: • The Gospel is for all. • God spreads His Word. • Salvation involves God’s grace, the sharing about the Lord Jesus, belief and turning to the Lord. • Faithfulness to the Lord is the calling and mark of genuineness. • Teaching is central to the Church’s mission. • Bearing burdens/sending relief (according to ability) is another mark and calling of followers of the Lord.
