FiberBench Configurator This tool is a quick and easy way to assemble all the components of your FiberBench System. Use the various components in the following slides to lay out your design and to help you choose the correct components. See the last slide for inspiration.
FiberBench Configurator • How to Use: • Step 1: Select your FiberBench • Depending on your application, select a single-axis or multi-axis FiberBench (Slide 3) • Basic part numbers are included • All possible beam paths are drawn in red, • Delete or modify the length/direction of any beam paths by simply clicking on them • Input/output FiberPorts are located where the beam exits the FiberBench (not all ports need to be used) • Once you have determined the bench(es) suitable for your application, copy and paste the bench(es) in the 5th slide, which acts as your work area. • Step 2: Choose your Components • The components are broken up into categories for easier selection(Slide 4) • A transparent replica is next to most components for easier alignment on the FiberBench. • Beam diagrams are included where necessary for better understanding of function of part. • Basic part numbers are included. • A vertical and horizontal part is included for some where applicable, however components can be rotated also in order to have the proper alignment. • Once you have chosen the components of your choice, copy and paste them into the 4th blank slide, which acts as your work area. • Step 3: Build your system • The 4th slide contains some example systems for your reference. These can be easily deleted or re-configured based on your needs. NOTE: This tool is meant only for approximation of alignment, and to aid in choosing proper parts for your system. A different program such as SolidWorks should be used to provide more precise dimensioning and alignment of parts.
Tips and Tricks • It is easier to create beam paths without components, therefore leave all beam paths on the bench and delete the paths not needed. • All components are grouped, be sure to click on the outermost corner of the part to ensure you select the entire group of parts. • You can move parts in small increments by pressing down on the Ctrl button on your keyboard and using the arrow keys at the same time. This helps in precise alignments. • Zooming In: Click on the part you wish to zoom in on, THEN zoom in. This keeps the chosen part centered on your screen. • If you cannot see components, the order will have to be changed, click on the component and choose Bring to Front, Bring Forward, Send to Back, etc.
