  2. Physical Features of Yew • Yew is an evergreen. With Red berry like seed • Yew is a tree. • Yew looks like a pine tree. • Yews tree branches grow into the ground and when the central trunk dies the tree grows on. • All parts of the Yew along with many of its cousins are extremely toxic and contain taxine, a cardiac depressant.

  3. Where Yew is found. • Yew is found in the Pacific Northwest.

  4. Why Yew is dangerous • Yew is dangerous because it is very poisonous. • There is no time to initiate treatment.

  5. Symptoms • Trembling of the heart rate. • Cardiac failure which can occur in as little as five minutes after ingesting the plant.

  6. Treatment • There is no treatment and there is no know antidote.
