What is a tornado A tornado is a funnel cloud that spins from a thunder storm. When the funnel cloud reaches the ground it is called a tornado. A funnel cloud forms when hot humid air and cold dry air meet it makes the funnel cloud. The funnel cloud spins until it reaches the ground it is called a tornado.
Windy facts about tornados • Sometimes a tornado can be called a twister • An area that is really flat with a lot of tornados is called a Tornado Alley • When it is very hot, humid, and windy then it is possible for a tornado to happen • The most powerful tornados happen in the United States
How tornados form Tornados form when cold and dry comes from one side and hot and humid air comes from the other side. When those two types of air meet, it makes a funnel cloud and when the funnel cloud reaches the ground it is called a tornado.
Types of tornadoes There are other types and sizes of tornadoes. Tornadoes can be really big. There is only really big tornadoes in Tornado Alley. Some tornadoes can be really small and last for a minute and do no damage at all. There are a lot of small tornadoes in places that aren’t flat.
Tornado alleys Oklahoma, Florida, Texas, and Kansas are some places that haveTornado Alley. A Tornado Alley is a really flat place with a lot of tornados. If you live near a tornado alley, then make sure that you have a plan for what to do in an event of a tornado.
