  2. 1 Knowledge Center Social Europe in short Knowledge Center Social Europe has 2 main activities • Informing the federations of the non profit sector and the Flemish regional authorities, among others department of welfare, public health and family about European Policy • Informing and supporting organizations (both public and private) in European subvention lines and projects

  3. 2 Knowledge Center Social Europe brings social enterprises to Europe by … • Basic information (calls, partnersearches, …) • Screening of organizationalpriorities, individualcounselling, … • Active linking of our members to the opportunitieswhichcomes out of the participationtonetworks

  4. 3 European networks: active participation • ENSA – European Network of SocialAuthorities: a network of citiesand European Regionsthat has the aim of promoting international cooperation in the social field •  different workgroups: disability, elderly, childandyouth, … • ELISAN – European localinclusionandsocial action network • SIRG – SocialInclusionRegional Group

  5. 4 Active participation in the networks • ENSA: different workinggroups = opportunity tocreate a personal network, to get toknowprojects of the otherregionsand present the projectsof our members tofindgood partners

  6. 5 Some examples of active linking (1) • During the meetings • Partnersearchescomeintoour mailbox • Distribution toour members (passiverole) • Active role: invite one of our members to take part (match the priorities of the organizationwith the project objectives) • eg integration center de ‘8’ in Antwerpbecame partner in a project of the European Integration Fund because of the intervention of Knowledge Center Social Europe

  7. 5 Some examples of active linking (2) • Active role: invite different of our members to take part (match the priorities of the organizationwith the project objectives) • eg 3 day care centers forpeoplewith a disability take part in a Leonardo Da Vinci – partnership project thanksto the coordination of Knowledge Center Social Europe

  8. 6 Organization of thematic contact seminars • ENSA Youth - 3 propositions - 2 projectswere hand in, 1 project willbe hand in: • - Leonardo Da Vinci – human relationships in education • - Daphne – Internet safety • - Youth in Action - Participation of youngsters in decision making processes of organiations • ENSA SocialInclusion = planned

  9. 6 Conditions • Good knowledge and support of the non profit sector in Flanders • Mapping the priorities of the social enterprises and translate them into European objectives • Productive, good working European networks
