  6. Steps to decision making • State the situation • List options (possible choices) • Weigh consequences • Make a decision and act upon it • Evaluate the decision

  7. Lets make a decision: My problem is that I need to have transportation to school each day.

  8. How to make a responsible decision • Make it at the right time • Consider your consequences • Be willing to take risks • Seek advice • Consider your values • Accept responsibility for your decision

  10. Types of goals • Short term- reached within a couple of weeks • Long term- reached in months or years

  11. Long term goals can be divided into many short term goals

  12. Activity- long term goal divide it into several short term goals • Graduate from high school • Get a drivers license • Get a job • Work to get a letter grade of A in a class • Be president of the United States

  14. How to achieve your goals • Use resources( something needed to reach goal) • Positive attitude (can do attitude) • Set priorities (trade off at times)
