  2. Training and Accreditation • 2 parts: • Service Overview, Delivery, Practical Advice, Communication of Risk, Paperwork!, Resources etc. Lead: Joanne Haws, Independent Nurse Consultant in Cardiovascular Disease

  3. Training and Accreditation 2) Near Patient Testing Equipment (Cardiocheck PA) Lead: Dan Carver, BHR Pharmaceuticals NB: Further cascade training within you organisation is permitted, subject to satisfactory competency- clinical lead responsibility.

  4. LES • 12 months (initially) • May later become more targeted (political influence), but pharmacy’s advantages remain. • MUST: Be proactive in client recruitment. Require approximately 70 clients to recoup investment. • CLEAR synergies with smoking cessation Level 2 provision- if you don’t already offer this too then….!

  5. Clinical Waste • PCT is/has arranged for those pharmacies confirmed as taking part to LPC by mid-August. • Needle Exchange bins not suitable as a solution. • Consider Hep B issue

  6. Before You Get Started • Practice on yourself, staff, friends or family- you get to draw blood legally. • Let your local GP surgeries know. • Get familiar with the paperwork, and plan when you should return forms etc. • Discuss and record lines of responsibility for clinical governance, infection control, equipment maintenance and QC etc.

  11. Reporting Requirements • MONTHLY: Single page report form. V.quick and simple. Payment is based on this!!!   12. Data Transfer • Copy of each Health Check Record to be sent to client’s GP. • In person- no issue. • By post: Data transfer recording sheet required IF MORE THAN 20 RECORDS TRANSFERRED AT ONCE.
