Political Ads • To view ads you must click the President face on the slide. • You will be able to view the political ads run by each candidate, look at two or three from each candidate • If there is a star by a political ad – VIEW IT • Read the information about each candidate, plus information about what was going on in the U.S.

  3. Political Ads • Today you will review Ads from the following campaigns: • Eisenhower v. Stevenson 1952 • One of the first campaigns to develop political ads to run on television

  4. Political Ads • Nixon v. Humphrey v. Wallace 1968 • Look at how each candidate portrays the wars we are fighting

  5. Political Ads • Carter v. Ford 1976 • Remember that Ford had taken over when Nixon resigned as President • Americans distrusted the government, especially the Executive Branch

  6. Political Ads • Bush V. Dukakis 1988 • Look at the two political ads that Bush created that have stars next to them

  7. Political Ads • Clinton v. Dole 1996

  8. Political Ads • Bush v. Kerry 2004

  9. Political Ads • McCain V. Obama 2008
