DISCOVERING THE CELL PHONE The cell phone was invented because ,people wanted to be able to carry on conversations out side of there home, with out having to be face to face with them. Now the cell phone has so many features you can do almost any and every thing on it.
The inventor and creator This is Martin cooper the “inventor "of the cell phone.
FUNCTIONS To answer one of my guiding questions. Why do we use a cell phone? • Stores contact info • Make task or to do list • Keep track of appointments • Use built in calculator • Send and receive emails • Get info • Play games
THE POPULARITY The most popular cell phone of the modern time would be smart phones. In 2007 over 82% of people owned a cell phone. The # continues to rise.
TIMELINE 1843 Micheal Faraday a talented chemist begins researching the possibility that space can conduct electricity. 1865A Virginia Dentist/Scientist, Dr. Mahlon Loomis, develops a method of communicating through the earth’s atmosphere by using an electrical conductor. 1866 The first trans-Atlantic telegraph is built (not much to do with cell phones, but a major advancement in communication nonetheless) 1956The first real car phones, not car radios, come into play across the United States. Although, the system is still using push-to-talk phones, it is an improved version that actually works. However, the units are big and bulky, and require a personal radio operator to switch the calls. A similar system appeared in Sweden a few years earlier 1973 Dr. Martin Cooper invents the first personal handset while working for Motorola. He takes his new invention, the Motorola Dynastic., to New York City and shows it to the public. His is credited with being the first person to make a call on a portable 2001 BellSouth announces that it is leaving the pay phone business because there is too much competition from cell phones. e-phone.
Area of interaction The area of interaction would be human ingenuity because it deals with humans and how we created cell phones
SUMMARY The first attempt at looking at mobile phones was in the mid 1800’s and since just looking at how to create them, technology has allowed us to progress to putting the plan to play. SINCE THE FIRST BRICK PHONE WE NOW HAVE SMARTPHONES THAT DO AS MUCH AS SEND EMAILS AS WELL AS CONNECT TO SOCIAL WEBSITES.
conclusion My conclusion is that cell phones make life easier simply because you don’t have to have every little piece of technology to do something. Like for an example you don’t have top have a computer to send emails.
