Poor Waste Management By: Summer Schulte
In the past Rome had a lot of problems involving the sewage system and the waste management. One of the problems with it was that the latrines (toilets) that they had flushed the waste into the Tiber River and it eventually got so bad that when people drank it they got sick and most of them died.
A system of eleven aqueducts provided Rome with water, the best being reserved for potable supplies. Poorer-quality water was used in the public baths and in the latrines. Latrines were just toilets that they use in ancient Rome.
