The Asian division of Library of Congress Invites you to come and celebrate with us The 150th Birthday Celebration of Gurudev Rabindranth Tagore Rabindranath Tagore (7 May 1861 – 7 August 1941) was a Bengali poet, novelist, musician, painter and playwright who reshaped Bengali literature and music. As author of Gitanjali with its "profoundly sensitive, fresh and beautiful verse", he was the first non-European to be awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature (1913). Join renowned musician Dr. Sudeshna Basu and the Cultural Minister, Embassy of India, His Excellency, Dr.Virander Paul for an afternoon celebrating the works and life of Rabindranath Tagore.
