Strategic HR Content Providers • Planning & Performance Division (PPD) provides research, data and information to support strategic workforce and performance management. • Information is compiled from credible public and private sector resources. • Content links to other disciplines such as: • Workforce Planning tools link to Competencies, Job Analysis, Assessment and Recruitment. • Workforce Data and Trends link to Reports and Publications.

Primary Subject Areas • HR Leadership & Shared Services – Overview of DOP and agency partnerships, HR decision making and reform initiatives. • HR Management Performance & Accountability - Information and guidance to measure and monitor key workforce management practices. • Workforce Data and Trends – Provides context and supporting data when developing workforce strategies.

HIGHLIGHT: 2010 Statewide Workforce Report • The 2009 Statewide Workforce Report was the first statewide workforce report in 20 years. • Report received the 2010 NASPE Communications Award. • Legislator’s, legislative staffers and the media continually referenced the report. • Other state’s are using our report as a model for creating their own tool. • The report is a tool for state leaders in setting priorities, making improvements and monitoring accountability. • Core workforce metrics are reported as well as significant workforce impacts/issues. While the focus is on the fiscal year, key initiatives are also noted.

WA State Employee Data • Focus is Executive Branch data. • Headcount and Temporary Layoff data is provided for Legislative and Judicial Branches. • Regularly Updated Core HR Metrics: • Headcount – Monthly Updates • Average Turnover Rate – Fiscal Year Updates • Temporary Layoff – Monthly Updates • Salary – Calendar Quarter Updates • Average length of service – Calendar Quarter • Demographics – Calendar Quarter
