  3. Involved in the early colonization of Virginia • Eloped with one of the queen’s ladies in waiting and put in the Tower of London for not getting permission from the queen.  I’m going to jail…

  4. Went in search of the legendary city of El Dorado (City of Gold) • Unsuccessful, but went again • On second trip, his men sacked a Spanish outpost, and when he returned, he was executed to appease the Spanish  El Dorado
