  4. What can you do to support your son/daughter Go to www.ucas.com (see page 2 of leaflet) Be familiar with the UCAS application form Research universities with your son/daughter to determine a shortlist Attend as many open days from your shortlist

  5. What can you do to support your son/daughter Attend finance talks and look at first year accommodation Purchase a student railcard Some universities offer financial support with costs of visits Research bursaries associated with different courses Have an honest talk about finances

  6. What can you do to support your son/daughter Be aware of the grade requirements for each course (no guarantee of accommodation unless first choice) Give advice with the personal statement Encourage voluntary work to enhance personal statement Encourage your son/daughter to read around the subject they wish to study

What can you do to support your son/daughter Encourage your son/daughter to keep up to date with current affairs Help develop life skills – cooking, washing, shopping and budgeting Talk to other parents that have gone through the process for advice Be involved in a supportive manner every step of the way

  9. UCAS Points AS levels are now worth approximately 40% of an A level (previously 50%) Finance is accepted at many universities EPQ has UCAS points
