Portfolio ExaminationPeriodontal Treatment Periodontics Competency Portfolio examiners are dental school periodontics faculty members who are chosen by their school, registered with the Board, and are trained and calibrated to conduct and grade the Board Portfolio Periodontics Competency Examination.
Portfolio ExaminationPeriodontal Examination Each Portfolio examiner will undergo training and calibration in the Board’s standardized evaluation system through didactic and experiential methods.
Portfolio Examination Periodontal Treatment Calibration of Portfolio examiners will be conducted at least annually in conjunction with the usual and customary calibration course given to the school’s competency examiners.
Portfolio Examination Periodontal Treatment All Portfolio examiners will be trained and calibrated to use the same rating criteria.
Portfolio Examination Periodontal Treatment The purpose of the periodontics treatment competency examination is to assess the student candidate’s independent ability to demonstrate clinical knowledge and skills in all aspects of Periodontic treatment from diagnosis and treatment planning to patient management.
Portfolio Examination Periodontal Treatment Nine (9) scoring factors One (1) clinical case to be scored in three parts Part A: Review medical and dental history; Identify radiographic findings; Comprehensive periodontal data collection; Evaluate periodontal etiology/risk factors; Comprehensive periodontal diagnosis and treatment plan.
