Portfolio Examination Oral Diagnosis and Treatment Planning Oral Diagnosis and Treatment Planning Competency Portfolio Examiners are dental school faculty members who are chosen by their school, registered with and approved by the Board, and are trained and calibrated to conduct and grade the Board Portfolio Oral Diagnosis and Treatment Planning Competency Examination.
Portfolio Examination Oral Diagnosis and Treatment Planning Each Portfolio examiner will undergo training and calibration in the Board’s standardized evaluation system through didactic and experiential methods.
Portfolio Examination Oral Diagnosis and Treatment Planning Calibration of Portfolio examiners will be conducted at least annually in conjunction with the usual and customary calibration course given to the school’s competency examiners.
Portfolio Examination Oral Diagnosis and Treatment Planning All Portfolio examiners will be trained and calibrated to use the same rating criteria.
Portfolio Examination Oral Diagnosis and Treatment Planning The purpose of the Oral Diagnosis and Treatment Planning competency examination is to assess the candidate’s independent ability to identify and evaluate patient data and clinical findings; formulate diagnoses; and plan treatment interventions from a multidisciplinary perspective.

Portfolio Examination Oral Diagnosis and Treatment Planning PATIENT PARAMETERS Maximum of ASA II Missing or will be missing two or more teeth (not counting third molars) At least moderate periodontitis (probing depths of 5 mm or more)
Portfolio Examination Oral Diagnosis and Treatment Planning Scoring: Score of 0 is unacceptable; candidate exhibits a critical error Score of 1 is unacceptable; major deviations, are correctable Score of 2 is acceptable; minimum competence Score of 3 is adequate; less than optimal Score of 4 is optimal
