  2. FUEL SAVER PLUS PROPANE FUMIGATION FOR GASOLINE ENGINES How it works……. The Fuel Saver Plus for gasoline engines uses engine vacuum to control the flow of propane to increase mileage and reduce harmful emissions. It will not increase torque and horsepower. An engine at idle, has approximately 20 inches of vacuum, at this point, the Fuel Saver Plus will be delivering .2 cfm (cubic feet per minute) of propane to the engine. As you step on the throttle, the vacuum will drop (as you open the throttle door on the engine) At wide open throttle, the Fuel Saver Plus will deliver only .5 cfm of propane to the engine. The variable flow will range from .2 cfm at idle to .5cfm at wide open throttle, giving you a variance of approximately .3 cfm in between 20 inches of vacuum to 0 vacuum. If you get a check engine light, you will find that the oxygen sensor is detecting a richer mixture. To eliminate this, simply turn in the propane mixture screw on the side of the Fuel Saver system and clear the code. If you have a scan tool, you can adjust by turning up the propane mixture until you get the check engine light, clear the code and turn in the mixture screw until the code no longer comes on. This would indicate the maximum amount of propane the engine will accept while still keeping emissions reduced (the “plus” of the Fuel Saver Plus!) OBI II can pull up to 33% of the fuel calibrations out in these instances. The Fuel Saver Plus is not recommended for any engine that have DROP cylinder technology or engines that have shut down cylinders technology.
