Progress to date Finance • Funding for new shower blocks and refurbishment of current facilities (245K incl. running costs)* • Business case baseline assessments to consider low carbon travel Communications/Marketing • Strategy developed and progressing (e.g. Q & A sheet) developed for all site users • Personal travel planning day (538 packs issued). • Sustainable travel promoted in recruitment process. • Trust induction now markets sustainable travel. • Team formed to reinvigorate sustainable travel (TfGM & Christie). • Travel plan co-ordinator attended : • Travel champions training workshop - TfGM • Travel Choices Employer’s forum - TfGM Public Transport • First bus greater Manchester contract received and under review. • Travel plan co-ordinator attended Travel Choices ticketing workshop - TfGM Car Share • Car share database reviewed and updated. • GM Car Share account set up – pending review Cycling • National cycle to work day (4th September) marked with bicycle doctor session - Trust funded. • *Shower refurbishment ( 3 showers) completed Walking • Pedestrian access assessment conducted i.e. safe, secure, well lit, maintained and free from obstructions. • Concerns raised regarding condition Palatine Road footpath – logged with Council Monitoring • 1st progress meeting held with MCC in August. • Distribution of annual travel survey commenced (Site wide) • Collation of site wide post code data commenced Car parking • Eligibility criteria • Benchmarking with other NHS trusts • Consultation with travel & car parking group. • Planning application submitted for surface parking at the rear of blocks A, B, C & D. • Planning application submitted to extend agreement for temporary parking on the Golden lion site. • Offsite alternatives • Park & ride group formed • Consultant reviewing potential land availability • Business case under development.

  3. Actions planned Finance • Business case baseline assessments in line with sustainability – annual review November 2014. Communications/Marketing • Personal travel planning day follow up – monitoring and evaluation survey • Personal travel planning to be rolled out to all staff (subject to negotiations) • Development of online green travel resources and promotions • Review potential travel information points • S106 communication exercise • Park & ride communication strategy Public Transport • First Bus Greater Manchester contract for reduced rate tickets. • Northern rail online season ticket forms for ease of access. • Renegotiate Metrolink contract – renewal date Jan-15. Car Share • Review of GM Car Share database. Cycling • *New shower block: Consultants and planning team appointed. • Velocity 2025 (cycle networks) meeting to be scheduled. Walking • Seek clarification and progress regarding condition Palatine Road footpath – logged with Council Monitoring • Collate results from travel survey • Conduct postcode analysis • Review public transport ticket sales Car parking • Eligibility criteria - on-going • Await decision regarding planning application submitted for the rear of A, B, C & D block service parking. • Await outcome of application to extend agreement for temporary parking on the Golden lion site. Offsite alternatives • Park & ride to be launched for January 2015.
